How many folks are using their Xbox 360 as media extenders?

I just got my hooked up a week ago and I am lovin it...streaming all my content from my home pc to my big screen in the living room

Not to mention SacTownRadio.com now bumpin in the living room on 5.1 surrond sound...never sounded better!!!

You can find us in the Live365 directory under Hip-Hop/Rap...

yea i got my shit hooked up but how do you do all that? like stream videos from the internet and watch them on the tv? do the files need to be saved onto the hard drive of your computer? help me out yall.

Go here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup and click Setup at the bottom of the page, and follow the rest of the steps...I got it connected using Windows Vista Beta2 ,it has media center on it. I don't know if you can install Media Center as a stand alone application. Have to install it as a seperate OS along side XP. On Vista , it required me to connect to the internet to use it.

yea man i got everything setup already but i aint got shit on this computer. like pictures, movies, music etc.. I was wondering if you can browse the net on there and watch videos and listen to music. just like dude said who started this post. he said he be streaming sactownradio. i was wondering how do you do all that shit. stream videos and music from the internet so i can listen and watch it on my big screen. any help will be coo. thanks cuddy

there is a specific folder you have to save your video files and music in. I been on the PS2 lately but I'll check it out for you. To stream a station like sactown radio...you need to get the direct link . it should end in a .asx extension which is recognized by windows media player for streaming. you would then use the "open url" in media player to start the stream. go to file> open url in media player.

Actually it'z a little easier then all that...on your Xbox 360 all you have to do is start up the media extender...

Once there..just go to online spotlight, Radio/Music

Go to the live365 section...go under hiphop/rap find sactownradio and click that play button...

Pretty Simple and Easy....

I don't think it was like that when I originally posted that. But that's some good news...I got the latest Vista Beta bought to install it this week end...I'ma check you out!

to have the media center from the pc running to the media center on the x box360, do both 360 and pc have to be hooked up to the internet?

i dont think i have this setup but i should if i can figure it out,, but can u stream music from ur PC onto ur 360..and what all can you do with this media centre and shit for the 360..i dont fuck around wit my 360 anymore ever since i played Uncharted...

^yeah thats what your supposed to be able to do + stream videos n shit...but im tryin to figure out if i have to have both pc and 360 connected to the internet

^ yyea i think u need to have both connected to internet cuz ur 360 needs to be and the only way u can do that is by computer so i guess the computer needs internet too..but im not quite sure as i dont no shit about this type of shit.
