The only thing holding Ren back is production (music wise). And no major wants to do anything with him because of what he speaks and his style.
His last EP "Reincarnated" with John Doe was a let down. The production was lacking on a few tracks and Ren should have done that solo. And before that "Ruthless 4 Life" was a let down to me because of the production.
Ren took himself too seriously after the N.W.A. split, but he paved the way for that militant drama funk for artists like Paris and Kam. Ren was prolly the only revolutionary-minded one out of N.W.A.
How could he pave the way for Paris when he came out in '92 and Paris came out in '90?
I liked Ren, but let's not blow shit out of porportion. He had voice and delivery, but his lyrics were questionable. Didn't he rhyme about boiling shit in a pot?
