I'm confused why everyone is stuck on pro-tools....I mean I can understand when someone says." It's industry standard", but are you in the industry? or do you think you really are gonna be on that level? No disrespect because maybe you are and maybe you aren't, but if you are, but are your mixing skills on par with talented engineers? If you make a good song are you gonna fork out between $ 50 - $60 bucks to have it mixed down at a bigger studio?
So you just want the best sound you possibly can get and whatever happens happens, right. Well my advice is get off the siccness, go to a site like gearslutz.com or something where there are actually people who know what they are talking about..not to say there aren't idiots on any site just running their mouths. Ask someone who can actually hear differences in things like convertors etc...Digidesign in my opinion is not bad, but they get ya locked into buying all their over priced stuff. Unless you are gonna go HD, their products aren't much better then anything else in that arena. Mbox, digi 003 are cool for a budget do not get me wrong, but when you talk about getting better sound etc and upgrade this...like do not buy a $ 2000 mic pre, which will make a difference butif you are that serious about getting the best sounds think about convertors/ wordclock...and this aint cheap either..all Im saying is dont put $3000 rims on a pinto either...
