MASTERING INFO???

do any of you know of a good QUALITY matering house here in cali?

i already have the rates from bernie grudnman mastering studios. i talked to Rich La Fayette and he is Chris Bellman's assistant at the mastering studio. here is what i was quoted:

"For a project of your length I estimate
$2.200.

The rates are as follows: Set up/EQ time $325/Hr- 4 Hours Estimated

Production Time $250/Hr- 1.5 Hours Estimated
1 CD Refence $120

1 CD Master $420


Total $2200"


thats what he gave me via email. i havent talked to him yet over the phone but we did exchange numbers.


im also talking to ROCKET LAB. any other good mastering homes in the bay area or cali?????

I myself am looking for somewhere to master, now I know how important it is to get it done properly but as all of us are im working with a budget here. What is the best cheapest place that you guys know of? I know thats kind of a ass backwards question but any info would be appreciated

doug chancellor at SOUNDFARM does mastering work but its more of a recording studio. im looking for an engineer that specifically does mastering. i sent an email to Paul Stubblebine and Michael Romanowski but they havent got back with me. as soon as they do i will post the quotes here.

^^^^ thanx for the link pimp. ok i received an email back from Paul Stubblebine mastering. Michael Romanowski can take the job. he mastered too $horts chase the cat or the you nasty album.


studio time: $175/hour
cd master: $175 over 74 minutes $225 under 30 minutes $100

pcm 1630 master:$350. over 74 minutes $400 under 30 minutes $300.

dat master: $35


im looking at the pyrimud site now. its gonna be one of these 3 places. im gonna email them for rates.
