The Ep is dope. I got it today and reviewed it. Here it is:
Planet Mars - Loving the beat. Ganksta NIP is halarious. "...Where the people are nine feet tall and speak different languages..." Good way to begin this shit off. No rating since it was an intro. Good Intro though.
Do It! - Song about rape. "...Just get that pussy mahn, just do it anyways, don't ask permission, she won't listen, stick it in, get laid..." Catchy chorus. Beat is hella nice. "... So open up and spread your legs, put the lotion in the basket or the bitch gets sprayed..." Good shit. The Lynch sample was hella dope at the end. 9/10
Shoot Em' Up - Door bell rings. Gunshots. Drive away...
My Block - I am hella likin' this beat. "...Fully heated with my vest on, clip full of teflon, retaliation from the ni*ga that you never should have krept on, no date on my grave stone, talkin' on your cell phone, tellin' motherfuckers that you got me, but you're dead wrong..." Mars spits some very good lines on this one. Chrous is nice too. Mars speaks reality in a lot of these songs from the way I hear it. Kinda of a rendition of his real life. 9/10
Second Time Around - I have never heard of Miss Money, but she is pretty dope on the hook. Spice 1 tears this shit up along with Arsenal. Beat is pretty dope. It's a banger of a beat. Even though everyone on this track has a different style they all seem to work on it. 8/10
Break It Off - One of my favorite tracks. The hook is dope. "...Do you wanna smoke with me, do a little coke with me cuz i'm feelin' cool, cuz I'm feelin' fine and I'm feelin' free..." Very laid back track. This is a great track to show Mars has many styles and isn't limited at all. This track is amazing. The words and beat complement one and other. 10/10
White Noise - HAHAHAHA Ganksta NIP is halarious and at the end "Thoooose girls must diiiiie!!!" hahaha wow!
Something's Wrong - Hella bangin' beat. Mars spits pure fire on this track. The hooks is hella catching on this one. Still can't get over how nice this beat is. The beat reminds me of another song I just can't think of it. 10/10
Come A Long Way - This is real. Mars has been through some fucking bullshit. This by far is my favorite track. I like the guitar sample at the beginning. This has a lot of emotions behind it. The hook is amazing and it is the truth. Mars has earned everything he has gotten, no one can argue that. This is my favorite song this man has put out outta all that I have heard. "...Well, I hope that I don't die today, if i did then what would people say, they'd say that we all got a price to pay, but then again I've come a long way..." Mars is spitting the truth on this one. That is what makes this track as great as it is to me. The beat fits the mood perfectly. 10/10
Overall Score Average: 9.5
I'd go as far as to say this EP is flawless. Everyone that didn't get it needs to try to secure one. MIR Store will have some when it opens so keep an eye out.
