Man arrested in Concord carjacking

CONCORD -- An Oakley man was carjacked at gunpoint in a Concord drugstore parking lot, police said today.
Police arrested 26-year-old Mario Delgado of Antioch as a suspect in the crime, which the victim told police occurred sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Monday, Lt. David Chilimidos said.
The victim, also 26, told police that he left Longs at 2677 Clayton Ave. and discovered a man standing between his vehicle and another car,
The man threatened the victim with a black pistol, forcing him to drive him down the street to the Valley Motel to pick up a female acquaintance, Chilimidos said.
From there, the victim was forced to drive to the Concord BART Station, where the man robbed him, ordered him out of the car and drove away, Chilimidos said.
The victim called police at 1 a.m. Tuesday to report the crime.
Delgado was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, carjacking and robbery on Tuesday morning at the Valley Motel after officer's found the victim's car in the parking lot. The district attorney had not filed charges as of this afternoon.
