I was sitting in court and this public defender was defending a guy who grabbed a gun off a cop while resisting arrest. The public defender started out going "Well, the policeman was very tired and not very alert and he was trying to arrest my client when my client punched him in the face and jumped a fence, he then chased my client and my client grabbed the gun off him in attempt to kill him".

The judge actually stopped the guy and said "Are you defending your client or the police officer?"

The public defender just said "I'm just giving you the facts, your honor".

I've never seen a more piss poor job at a trial. The guy just didn't give a FUCK about whether his client got in trouble or not.
