VAN NUYS, Calif. (KABC) -- Police in Van Nuys are searching for a man on Wednesday who attacked three people with a Samurai-style sword, killing one of them.
Police said the suspect is 34-year-old Steven Hill, and the victims were his coworkers.
The attack was near Hayvenhurst Avenue and Saticoy Street at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. All three victims were taken to a hospital, where one of them died.
One of the victims told Eyewitness News that the business that Hill worked for produced adult content. Hill was working on Tuesday night on the set of a shoot when he allegedly acted inappropriately.
The victim said Hill was told he was going to be fired for his actions, and at that point, he became angry and pulled out the sword. Authorities are unsure where the suspect got the sword.
The victim who spoke to Eyewitness News worked next door, heard the screams, came in to help and was also attacked. He suffered minor injuries.
Investigators are searching for Hill, who fled in a 1996 blue Toyota RAV4, with license plate number 5YTC423. Anyone with information is urged to call LAPD at (877) LAPD-24-7
