VALLEJO (KRON)--Vallejo police have arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of stabbing his mother Monday evening.
Police say they received a call at about 6:30 p.m. from the roommate of Felix Rivera saying that Rivera had stabbed his mother. Responding officers arrived at a home in the 300 block of Ebbetts Road, where they found Rivera's mother suffering from severe facial wounds and cuts to her wrist. Police say she was taken to NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield to be treated for her injuries which are not considered to be life-threatening.
According to police, Rivera was arrested in the 100 block of Hogan Avenue on suspicion of attempted murder. Investigators believe Rivera's untreated mental health problems may have led to the attack
