Making .GIF ANIMATIONS

I need some help with making animations. I searched siccness and got nothing, i googled it and there's a hella complicated ass guide to it. Those who have done it before, how do you do it?

ImageReady is one way I can think of. It comes with Photoshop.

i used to do it the hard way....i used fireworks

then i would make like 20 different frames put each picture i want to pop up on each frame then set a good time to see each picture...but i know there are programs that you can just put in a video to it and it will make it animated gif.

w/ intervideo windvd you can capture from dvd and turn it in one click into animation, 30 seconds maximum.

or with same program you can capture pictures from dvd and then edit w/ Imageready to animated gif.
