A middle school teacher was arrested after police said he showed up at school drunk, asked one of his students to fetch cognac, then fondled a student and made a sexual remark to another.


The teacher, Sterling Johnson, was charged with misdemeanor assault and a misdemeanor count of disturbing the peace. The school system will seek to have him fired, said Creg Williams, superintendent of public schools in St. Louis.


Johnson, 55, is an industrial arts teacher at the Pruitt Military Academy, a magnet school in the district.


After arriving at school Monday morning, police said Johnson asked a student to retrieve a bag containing a bottle of cognac from his car. Police then said Johnson rubbed the buttocks and thigh of a 13-year-old girl and directed a sexual remark at another 13-year-old girl.


The principal ordered the teacher, who has been teaching for 22 years, to leave after becoming aware of his behavior, police said. Johnson complied but returned a short time later and was arrested. Williams said a hidden bottle of liquor was found in Johnson's classroom.

My 9th grade PE teacher was always drunk.....it was supposed to be team sports, he would take attendance and see who was in uniform, then say play a certain game and sit his drunk ass down in his car......occassionally he'd be passed out in the car and would just never come out

my third grade teacher got caught gettin drunk off listerine.wed allways see him take swags and hed say it was to keep his mouth clean,we never knew he had to get perct to deal with us.but then again we were fuckin nuts back then,jamming tan bark in the key socket to prolong our breaks and crushing stink bombs during gay ass edumacation videos.

when i was in jr. high, we had this sub in math class who i forgot how he got pissed off but when one of the students went up to him and said sum to his face the teacher grabbed him lifted him up and slammed him on top of the teachers table...had us all like uhhhhh hahaha....and then the next year one of the science teachers had like a total of 5 students throw 12 chairs at her over the school year....
