good, maybe Washington will get a chance now. After that, A's need to make some moves and get some offense, preferably in the form of Bonds
NOPE, BONDS WILL RESIGN WITH THE GIANTS!!! Bonds would take a paycut anywhere from 8-10 million to stay with the Giants, If the A's would like to sign him, look for 10-12 Million!!! I hope the Giants Make Ron the Skipper.

bonds would be a better DH then the big hurt

at least bonds can get around the bases. when frank is on board, he slows the base running down to a halt because they have to wait for his snail self.

probably never happen, but someone needs to take franks spot. true he's got some good at bats in him still, but he's a liability on them bases.

^^^Exactly...he put up great power numbers, but i noticed he had like 11 doubles or something...just crazy...
These are men called, All or nothing type of players. You either get a Homerun, A single, an occasional double, or an out.

Here's a list of em that I know:
Ryan Howard
Jim Thome
Frank Thomas

I'm pretty sure there's more but this is all I can think of.

Bonds will NEVER be on the A's.

I think Thomas and Bonds had the same BA & SLG last year... Bonds' OBP was higher and had more walks... I think Thomas had like 10 or 15 more HR's and had something like 40 more RBI's...

Also Thomas is friends with everyone in the clubhouse and is a positive influence on the younger players... Especially on Swisher... Bonds is the complete opposite. Just for that I'd take Thomas over Bonds any day.

A's players on Macha:

Kotsay: "When I got injured, I felt disrespected,'' Kotsay said. "The 'puzzling' comment really threw me. My manager didn't have my back, and every manager's first business is to protect his players. That totally lost my trust in that relationship, between us as player and manager.''

Danny Haren: "And it was unfair to sit him (Kotsay) two months against lefties and then all of a sudden throw him in there in the playoffs against tough lefties like (Johan) Santana and Kenny Rogers. I don't think Macha handled that correctly."

Kendall: "If there's a bang-bang play at first, even if you're out, if you're arguing you want someone there behind you. If you argue a pitch, even if you're wrong, you want someone joining in. And I'm not sure Macha did that.''

Zito: "I felt like he didn't protect me,'' Zito said. "I know a lot of managers do -- (White Sox first baseman) Paul Konerko told me that Ozzie Guillen would take a bullet for his players. I was upset but Macha was fighting his own battle and he probably couldn't process that kind of pressure, so, OK, I'll wear it.''

Chavvy: "The atmosphere wasn't positive, for some reason,'' Chavez said. "That was hard for us to deal with -- here we are, winning the division, we're banged up but we're still doing what we should be doing, and every time he spoke to us, he'd say how much appreciated the effort, but then you'd read things where he was always smashing people. ... This negative cloud was just eating at everybody.''

Chavez ALWAYS had Macha's back... If he changed his mind things must have been bad... Good riddance.
