You could be filthy rich one day.
And the next morning end up broke.
I'm glad I learned my lesson, way back in '87.
I was white around the mouth, buyin them burritos from 7-11.

rest in peace to Mac Dre.

i always thought Mall was a better lyricist tho. and i think there's a lot of other lyricists in the Bay that got the edge on Dre lyrically like E40, Quinn.

Dre had great delivery tho.

i think Quinn is one of the Bay Area's most consistent and best lyricists. I think if you say Dre is the best lyricist in the history of Bay Area rap your opinion on music shouldn't be taken too serious. but like i said respect to Mac Dre he was good.

I would not label Mac Dre as a "lyricist." He had a very simple rhyme scheme for the most part. For example, in your quote he rhymes "7-11" with "87" and "joke" with "broke."

I think lyrically, Dre was one of the smartest and most clever lyricist. I love Dre's music, but Pac was the coldest to ever come out Tha Bay, hands down. I think J. Jona (Of the Mob C.I.N.) was a close second to Pac, he just didn't stay free long enough the showcase his full potential. But anyone who listens to rap and knows their Hip-Hop should know that Jona was something special.

R.I.P. Mac Dre

I think if you say Quinn is the best Lyricist in the Bay, your a Quinn Groupie whos opinion of music is not a valid opinion at all.

To each there own.
