What up all and merry Xmas. I copped the re-released version of EBK4 a while back. Apperantly Black Market sold Lynch's albums to another distibutor who just re-released them all last November.

Anyway, my question is to anyone who has these albums when they first came out on Black Market. Is the recording quality on these albums kinda shitty, or is it just these newer versions. It seems like some of the songs on EBK4 sound fine, but others sound like shit, with Xcalibur sounding the shittiest by far. I know these songs where stolen from Lynch back in the day and probably didn't get the attention they deserved, but I was wondering if these re-released versions have been stepped on and muddied up even more.

Also, did the original versions come with any production notes or tell whose featured on the tracks. The new ones don't say shit. There pretty cheaply pressed.

Cheers.

Anytime you make a copy of a copy the result is worse sound quality, unless ced handed over the masters for re mixing and mastering its gonna sound jus a little bit worse

But Excaliber always sounded horrendous

the whole EBK album is a result of a few finished songs...
freestyles and unfinished songs....
the lack of production and featured guest credits
comes from the fact that CED didnt know any of the info for the liner credits....
if i remember correctly, there was no other
producer credited on the BMR release except PHONK BETA..
and i can tell he didnt do every track,
speaking of XCALIBA (which is a classic record)......
ive wished 4 years 2 have a better q version of it...
and Id bet sum1 a fifth he did that beat
(and a few others)

heres some more info on ebk4

it was originally spose to be a solo soundtrack of the movie that never happened, it was going to be narrated by DE....ced had said that they striked a deal with tommy boy just for the simple fact lynch was gonna do a solo record and movie. he stated that lynch had lost his will and drive to rap after loaded, becuase he saw it as a failure, so he just kept laggin on the album which resulted in ced losing the deal with tommy boy, and putting out ebk4 as is and adding his chosen features, and throwing on filler tracks that would result in some sort of album...well gate told the rest of the story...thats just what ced had to say, maybe not word for word but somthing to that degree
