Am I the only one who likes Hollis production??
Hollis' production tends to sound best when it's paired with artists whose voices are more on the finesse/smooth(er) side. For instance, I thought his music fit well with Marvaless on her GHETTO BLUES 2001 CD. Most of the tracks he recorded on Skee 64's HALF MAN, HALF AMAZING sounded cool, too, since Marvaless and Skee 64 are more what I would consider "conversational" types of rappers, IMHO. Also, the two tracks he did for Black C. and Taydatay's fun PRIME FACTORZ CD from last year were digable, IMHO.
Since Luni has a more boisterous, aggressive type of vocal style, he sounds better with "thicker" sounding production--Hollis' beats were varied and energetic enough on IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS for that CD to be dope, but his music sounded too much the same on LUNICOLEONE.COM (and on X-Raided's CD from last year as well). Hopefully he'll start to vary his beats more, though. PEACE!
