FIRST THINGS FIRST lets keep this sunday's action reserved to one thread. I hate having to repeat the same thing to a dozen threads all talking about the same thing. Also, I'm taking bets on who will be the moron who does it anyway. That said, let's move on.
I predicted that the Lakers were going to take this series on account that I believed the NBA wanted Lakers and Celts in the Finals. Now that Boston is out, so is my conspiracy theory. However, from a revenue and Nielsen rating point of view, the NBA and NBC still need at least Los Angeles ( I think the #2 or #3 market) to be in this year's Finals more than ever. NBC is in this for a lot of greenbacks and can't afford to see their advertising profits go belly up after such a great Conference Finals series on both coast. But who knows?
Anyway, the Kings do have a chance to pull this one out. Honestly, if they lose (fairly) I will not be too dissapointed. It's a big leap over last year's results and the start of a much more real rivalry. All I really want is a faily called game on both ends for both teams. Sure there will be some misshaps here and there but there always are. Leave the winning or losing up to the players on the court.
This one is going to be ugly folks. People are going to get hurt and technicals will be assessed. We may even see a scuffel or two and a possible ejection? When it's all said and done and the smoke clears, I predict we will be looking at a new WCF Champon in the Sacramento Kings.
Final score:
Kings 101
Lakers 100
