This is why unproven players get ridiculous contracts. You have one good year and everyone jumps on the nuts. Then when they don’t perform like they did…ahhh that fucker sucks.

Not saying that will be Gore…but you get the idea. But really…that’s what announcers, writers and commentators all do. They hype you up, and then tear you down.

And where are all these comments from coaches and players calling him “elite”? Are there some links to this?

LOL... ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, FATAL.. YOU WERE IN HERE CALLING FRANK GORE AN ELITE BACK AFTER LIKE 3 GAMES LAST SEASON.
Well I do agree that he is an elite back. So do most coaches/players/writers/announcers/fans (obviously not raider fans). But no, I was not calling him that good after 3 games, sorry.

Look around. Just like the last time you wanted a link (Champ Bailey), I'm not gonna find them for you. I do recall reading them (I'm a member of a Niner site and they always bring up articles of opposing teams' views of our players). Also, just watch the game and listen to what they say, they always mention what other coaches and players have to say about Gore.

I DON'T HATE THE NINERS. I JUST THINK THAT FRANK GORE HAS TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE STELLAR SEASON TO BE CALLED AN "ELITE" RUNNINGBACK..
I understand that.. All I'm saying is most people who's opinions might matter are already saying Gore is a top tier back. I think it has more to do with how he did what he did. He showed he has the power, speed, burst, vision, etc.. of an elite back. You can see the difference betwen him and someone like LaMonth Jordan.. Jordan runs thru holes and gains the yardage that his blocking allows, he's not breaking any ankles or plowing thru people. If Gore had gained his yards the way LaMont does, I don't think he'd be considered "elite" yet even if he gained 1,700 yards on the ground and ranked 3rd in the league like he did.

I'm not bashing LaMont Jordan or anything.. They're just two different types of runners and Gore makes the most of his openings, which I believe is the main reason people think of him so highly. Those abilities don't just go away..

I agree with everything but that, Jordan is 1 of best power runners in the NFL. You really think those 3 games he had were 100% credit to the offensive line?

Nah don't get me wrong, LaMont earns his yards just like every other RB. Power running is his strength, he gets the tough yards and does a good job. He has to have the vision and patience to make it happen, because a RB with the best offensive line in the world will not go anywhere if he can't read his blocks and see his holes. I'm not trying to discredit the man, not at all. But he does not bounce off defenders, shrug them off and continue into the openfield like Gore and he does not produce yardage on his own like Gore (peep the TD run against STL for just one example). If he gets caught there's a good chance he's going down, and he does not have the agility or the moves to juke most defenders unless they're off-balance as it is. Also, once LaMont gets into the defensive backfield he's not nearly the threat that Frank Gore, LaDainian Tomlinson, Steven Jackson and Larry Johnson are.. That's why you don't see him busting 40, 60, 70 yard runs.. He's had a few opportunities to do so. I've watched every game so far and Jordan is putting up decent numbers, but the line is very much responsible for it, just like the Niner line's poor play is very much responsible for Gore's lack of yardage so far.

Just so you know, RB is my favorite position. I played it and I pay close attention to what they are doing during a game, not just when they get carries but also when they pick up blitzes and run routes. Frank Gore is a complete package, and I'm not just saying that because he's a 49er. The proof is in the film, and that's why most people consider him a top 5 back. We might not agree on things, but please believe I do know what I'm talking about.

You don’t have to find them for me…the next time you’re on your Niner site…just copy and paste the link here. It shouldn’t take more than a minute.

And I watch just about every game…my wife and her whole family are Niner fans. I don’t recall the announcers saying that the opposing players and coaches were calling him an “elite” back.

I've heard it countless times. Then the announcers go on to polish Gore's nuts, it's actually kinda sad. "This kid is such a threat,*" "no doubt Frank was the focus of the defense all week long,*" "he's got such tremendous vision and he's so strong,*" "He racked up 1,695 yards on his way to becoming one of the league's elite runningbacks,*" "He's gonna Gore my wife tonight."

^emphasis on the "on his way to becoming"

I think Gore is a great back, but not elite yet.....just as Carson Palmer is a great quarterback, but not elite. and the Bungles are my 2nd favorite team in the nfl, have been for a while. I also hate Tom Brady with a passion and wish death upon him everyday, but I know he is an elite quarterback.....AND IT WAS A FUMBLE!!!!! FUCK THE TUCK RULE!!!!! :lick:

It’s been said countless times, but it’s been 1 freaking year. He had a phenomenal year…but it was still just 1 year. And unless he turns things around this year…..

And announcers and commentator always hype up players during games…that’s what they do. Watch a Sunday night game or a Monday night game. They take the best player from each time and ride their nuts all game long.

Try watching a Browns game if you can stomach it. Week 1 they were saying how bad the Browns QB’s were. Then the next week Anderson throws for 5 TD’s…all of the sudden he’s a playmaker. A LB hits some guy hard…oooh…watch out for this guy…he lives and breathes football and hits like a truck. Meanwhile….they can’t even pronounce his name right.

I don’t know why you even pay attention to them…I think they just make up shit half the time.

Did you mean wish? You can't be serious dog...
yeah, I mean wish.....and yes I'm serious.....I didn't like Tom Brady much before that game, but it was all downhill after that......I hate the Patriots 1000 times more than I hate the 49ers....They are the only team (besides division rivals) that I always root against

Yes, last year he was on his way to becoming elite. Don't misunderstand the phrase..

It's kinda like when somone wins a championship.. "This guy knocked out 3 other boxers on his way to becoming the heavyweight champ."
