http://www.madtracker.org/plugins.php

has links to a gang of really good free vst instruments and plugins...I'm talkin good quality stuff. You gotta weed through em though...stay away from any of the demo versions . There's also one I use called Crystal VSTi. I'm not sure if it's @ the MadTracker site or not, here's a direct link to Crystal. Crystal's cool because you can create different patches and Morph or merge them together to come up with some insane stuff...I got some interesting Basses like that. http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/ ... actually I'm not sure if the morphing and merging are in Crystal or this other one called SuperWave get this one here: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/708.html

and check this one out.. the MiniMogue VA...a nice free spinoff of the MiniMoog

Have Fun. I really hate getting on this topic at work. I got the urge to make somthing. Screw it...I'll pound on the table till quitin time:)

I wonder why people give these things away?

Because for some people, making synths is just a hobby to them, so they don't mind sharing. Really cool people. They may not be getting no money, but they definitely earn everyone's respect & gratitude and I'm sure they develope a little sense of pride after knowing how much their synths are appreciated.

There's lots of good freeware out there that rival commercial synths. Such as that Synth1, it's a truely amazing sounding VSTi, modeled after the Nord Lead2 synth.

Yeah, but not neccessarily, there's a lot of developers that still continue to make free stuff even after reading about people saying they would pay so and so for it. Just check out the Kvr-audio forums. Most of the developers that post there are actually the freeware creators and their the ones that actually understand the community's needs & wants more. It's the commercial dudes that kind of hide out in the background, I guess they think their too good. For example, you'll probably never catch WAVES or Native Instruments plugin developers posting in those forums. So when it's all said and done, I think a lot of these freeware dudes gain more respect because they actually listen to the community, they like the respect they get, so they just keep doing stuff for free. Like I said, some of these dudes are just really cool people also so I don't think they care for the money, they just happen to know how to program. It's more of a hobby probably or they see it as a art form.

Appreciative users send them duckets on the under too, that's why it's often called shareware

haha, yeah it does sound cheesy, but good for what it is. Just ain't my type of sound, don't use it much.

Check this $hit out though, it's 4Front's next piano VSTi project. Take a listen here, dude is playing it in the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsd2SJThgjU

Shit is supposebly very small in file size also, not like some huge sample library. So there's some pretty damn amazing technology behind it.

shit yeah..thankz to all you. One more thing..how do i make this programs run on fruity loops cause i can't seem to make it work.

Install all those VST plugins in the same folder.

To make it easy on you, install or copy the .dll files to this folder path:

C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 6\Plugins\VST
BTW, This folder path is for FL Studio 6. It's the same concept though for the older versions, just get those files into that last VST folder.

OK, then once you have them all in that folder, go open up FL Studio, go to the "Channels" menu at the top, then go to "Add one," then click on "More...," then when that white retangular box pops up go down to the bottom and click on the "Refresh" button, then click on "Fast Scan (recommended)." Then once it finishes looking for new plugins, it will say it found X number of new plugins, then just search for them in that list (they will be in red color) and select the little boxes to activate them, then close down that retangular box. Go back to the Channels menu and all the new plugins should be there in that list.

Do same steps for FX plugins. Hope this helps.

Check this out jayda650 , I think you might like this! It's a synthmaker. Make your own...programs like these are what creates a lot of the plugins we use.
I'm usin the trial version now. I'll post up what I made soon.
http://synthmaker.co.uk/index.html

Yeah and there's also "SynthEdit" which is more widely used. I think it's better despite looking kind of dull.

http://www.synthedit.com/

I still don't think it's as easy as it might seem, you still have to really understand this stuff. And if your going to make something really simple, there's probably no point in doing so as there's hundreds of other plugins that can do the same and more.

I've checked that one out too. It's dope...I just like Synthmakers interface better. and it's a lil more user friendly than Synthedit.

Edit: Haven't peep SynthEdit in a while...giving it a look again. At the site now...I kinda shut it out when I came across the first beta for SynthMaker. It's looking good.
