by i greatly disagree with you on Nicaragua. i think that we did a good thing helping the people of Nicaragua and neighboring El Salvador by helping the contras.
why is it that when we help pro market capitalist people within a country that are fighting agianst commies we always get the blame.

damn, you must be ignorant in history, the countries in latin american that were leaning towards socialism/communism was a democratic choice of the people of there respected countries. The US funded the minoirty opposition, that forced it self into power, and formed a dicatorship regime (no democracy). This happen in several latin amercian countries.

Everyone is missing the bottom line on this one...America was lied to by the administration. The BASIS for the war and the reason that we HAD to go to war was Weapons of Mass Destruction. Weapons of Mass Destruction WERE not found. 500+ Americans are D-E-A-D. Don't forget about the dead Iraqis either, we all share this earth, we should all have love for eachother. I've lost family and I feel for the families who are getting bad news everyday that their loved ones won't be coming home. How can you not question the administration's intentions when VP Dick Cheney was the Ex-CEO of Halliburton, a US company getting BILLIONS in contracts for re-building Iraq. I don't hate America but I am ashamed to be an American while under the rule of this administration. It's sad that the majority of America is ignorant and blind to the facts when it comes to politics. A good example would be Bush's approval rating jumping when Saddam was caught. If the truth was heard, no one would give a fuck if Saddam was caught because they would know we shouldn't have been there in the first place. It's sad that Eisenhower's famous "beware of the military-industrial complex" statement was never listened to. From JFK to Vietnam to America's recent escapade in Iraq, it's real sad how easy it is to blind the general public. Although my political convictions are obvious, it's not even about that, it's about respect for life and respect for right vs. wrong.

There were no Weapons of Mass Destruction! Saddam was not a direct threat and did not need to be taken care of.
And they won't be found! With nearly two thousand soldiers spread out throughout the country and knowledgable prisoners being interrogated, don't you think they would have found ANYTHING yet? If they do find something it will be fake shit setup by the President to gain more approval.
People shouldn't die for an un-justified cause. War should have been the last case scenario, and the administration had blatant disregard for the UN and rushed into the war without world support.
I'm sure Cheney is getting rewarded behind the scenes. I don't know about Clinton and Bush Sr. using Halliburton, but the current administration shouldn't have because of the obvious connection.

The truth is the Iraq war happened as a result of bad leadership that made decisions based on the wrong reasons. IRAQ HAD NO CONNECTION TO AL QAEDA. Stop being ignorant. If we invested all the resources that we did in the Iraq war to finding Bin Laden, he would be behind bars by now and the world would be a lot safer.
Only small-scale terrorist events happened during Clinton's administration, 9-11 happened during Bush's administration, any President would have reacted strongly in the situation. If Clinton was President I'm sure we would have been going to war in Afghanistan, but it's unlikely we would have been drawn to Iraq. Bin Laden was one of the world's most wanted before 9-11, it's not like the Clinton administration wasn't doing anything about him.
