A long block is a engine that comes with the heads, and all the internals already installed (ie. crank, rods and pistons). Also sometimes, a long block comes with the upper and lower intake. A short block only comes with the internals (crank, rods, and pistons), but no heads or upper and lower intake. What year is the camaro? It's most likely a 5.7L 350 or if it's older it may have the 305ci engine......

I'd look on Kelly Blue Books' website and see what that car is listed at. If you are really interested in getting it, definitely take it somewhere reliable and have them completely look it over and make sure everything is in good shape. It should be pretty cheap to have it looked over, and it is more than worth it in the long run if you end up buying the car. I don't really know what the '95 Camaros are worth, but that sounds like a pretty damn good price if it's the Z28 even though the mileage is a little high for only being 7 years old. Research the '95 on the net and see if there are things that break a lot on them and stuff. Sorry I'm not much of a help, but I'm not REAL familiar with the camaro as far as pricing and things to look out for when buying a used one. Good luck with it though man. If I find any good sites I'll post some links....

Good shit...Thanx a lot. What he told me was, since its a new engine...the milage on the new engine is what counts. So the 100k is the total...but the new engine only has like 2 or 3 thousand, so thats why i was interested, cuz then i wouldnt have to worry about milage cuz its almost like having a new car. u know?...But yea. thanx again.

OH and another thing...will the milage effect the transmission? SInce he has a new engine in it, does that mean i still have to worry about the transmission breaking down since the orignal engine had 100k??????

I'd get that tranny checked thoroughly if you plan on buying it. Camaros, Mustangs, and Firebirds are notorious for people driving the shit out of 'em. You never know if they missed gears and grinded a lot when racing, and the tranny syncros could be bad. When you drive the car as long as you can put it in every gear easily with no grinding the syncros are probably fine. It may grind when putting it quickly in reverse but that is pretty normal. Get it checked anyway though. www.ls1.com has a forum for 90's Camaros called LTI's where you could register and ask all the camaro pros what they think. They should know exactly what the car is worth and exactly what to look for......

www.ls1.com go to FORUMS then scroll down to the "F-Body General" section and click on the LT1 forum for '93-'97. Hopefully that should help......

Here's a shortcut to the forum if you don't want to go through all the shit up above. LT1 '93-'97 F-Body (Camaro and Firebird)
