"Frontline has huge article in XXL" aka a photo and a paragraph about recognition.

"Baby Bash performed on Leeza...major credibility step for the bay YEA the bay is commin up" lol

"They had a segment on VH1 about Grills and they showd Yuk for a split second...its good to see the bay gettin this kind of recognition"

LOL you gotta be kidding me with this shit. The bay is a lot better than that aint it?!

theres nothing funny about nationwide exposure for bay artists REGARDLESS of what kind it may be.

I don't see why your laughin about Frontline the bay's best new artists w/ a huge article in one of the most read hip hop magazine, and how''s it funny if bash is performing for several talk shows where there's millions of viewers? I don't see how better it can get than that.

Yuk's grill being shown on VH1, Baby Bash performing on day-time talk shows, and Frontline being in XXL might have generated some local buzz but I haven't noticed any bay-area mention outside of the bay. It's going to take a LOT more than that man.

I agree the bay is "better" then that, but look at it from this perspective not only did Baby Bash perform on Lezza's show his album is moving major units, he is featured on the Now 15 compalation with the likes of Jay-Z, Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, ect...he has a video in rotation on MTV (not MTV2) and shit there arn't many artist period that can say that...so yes that is big not just for the Bay but period...Same with The Frontline, to my knowledge (and I subscribe to XXL) they are the only artist out of the Bay to have a feature in this world recognized magazine...not a payed for add, but a real article, with a real photo shoot that means that they are bringing national recognition to the Bay...there song is in heavy, heavy rotation on KMEL and 94.9...I don't know if yall get it but alot of artist period don't get that kind of radio play especialy in a major market such as the Bay, shit our market is 3rd largest in the country behind NY and LA...they been on MTV and ohh by the way these are just two niggaz wit talent, no major label, no big ass budget just a couple of Bay niggas that are getting respect cause they got fire...that's big to me...Now the Yuck grill shit, o.k. I feel ya on that, that is not an acomplishment, but that comes from the fact that the Bay is hungry for respect and attention, I remember a while ago I had potna in who was singing the same praises about Lil Jon and I was like whatever- so I seen it happen so knock and clump the cats out here that are doing major shit in the Bay because they are the mothafuckas opening doors for shit to pop off for this area.

I have a couple questions for you cats..

Do you think Baby Bash is getting MTV-love and other success right now because 'he has fire' or because he came up with a real catchy hook? Also, do you think he would have gotten the same results if he would have stayed in the bay and not moved to the south?

By the way, here's a clip of the very first sentence from MTV's bio of Baby Bash:
"Baby Bash hails from Houston, Texas, but he'll never be confused with the horror-movie violence of the local Geto Boys or the syrup-swiggers of the Screwed Up Click; Baby Bash is into his own thing."
The bio goes on to mention N2Deep but there's no reference to the bay what-so-ever.

bash aint even reppin the bay! i don't give a fuck what yall say, he's not reppin the bay. HOWEVER, that's fine cuz he's makin scrill and we aint lol. but i don't even consider bash bay area cuz he's not all about reppin the bay like some other rappers are. if he was he would be trying to bring it back by putting other deserving rappers on.

SAN QUINN, EA-SKI, and FRONTLINE are the bay's only hope right now as we speak. San Quinn does nothing but rep the bay so if he did blow up he wouldn't forget about where he's from, trust that!

and as for the exposure thing, i feel u dave! but it is nice to see frontline getting recognized or even see yuk's fuckin teeth on vh1 as sad as it sounds.

The bay is slowly but surely coming up. Everything is all good, as long as the garbo rappers go get their day jobs and put the mics back in the cases!!

It's good to get excited ...

... about the bay potentially "blowing up" but ...

What do you guys as fans stand to gain from the artists blowing up? Y'all obsess over this shit so much. Why is everybody on the edge of their seat waiting for that one artist to get through? I understand being a fan but damn.

Or is it so you can be cool to your friends when you say, "Man, I was listenin to him before he got big" ?
