Alright people!! Now I already know that the Southeast has long been the mecca of the local rap scene but since I've grown up a huge portion of my life in the East Dago (City Heights/Mid-City) district, right by Azalea Park and Poplar/Fairmount Ave. Does anyone from around there know any history of the any hip-hop/rap music scene occuring in my area??????
Any known rap/hip-hop artists that ya know about representing the area that includes:
East Dago (I already knew that Lil CS & the Mobkings were originally from the area & set EDMC also this one group I've recently heard known as The Undaground Fam or Tha Mob Clicc or somethin like that???)
City Heights
(Fairmount Ave., Manzanita, Azalea Park, Hollywood Park, Hamilton, Home Ave., Central, Monroe, Thorn, Hoover, Wilson, University Ave., the Indochinese hoods, Lil Africa, Ethiopia/Somali hoods)
Kensington District
Normal Heights District (Adams Ave., The States streets)
I also lived there for about 8 years on Utah/Adams
North Park District (University, The States sts, 30th street)
South Park/Golden Hill District (Now that area I don't know very much about)
Any info on any veteran artist or any up&coming artists (including Chicano, Asian, native African) from those areas listed above, let us know about them, I greatly appreciated all that!!!
Peace!!
