I always say, a real patriot is like a real friend -- the one who tells you the truth. The one who really gives it to you straight. After you think about it for a day or two, you come back to that guy and say: "You know what? Thanks a lot for telling me that because somebody needed to and I appreciate it." That's the kind of friend I think people should be to their country, and that's the kind of friend I am to America.

I agree with alot shit Bill Maher has to say and he's real wit it, has knowledge and understanding of the topics he speaks on, and not afraid to speak his mind on alot of shit. I watched Politically Incorrect on the regular, and his new show Real Time With Bill Maher on HBO started out pretty cooh too.

Hit The Blunt said:
Bill Maher can go hug a tree. "When you ride ALONE, you ride with Bin laden"......lol.

I see it now....2004 presidential election.....Al Gore and his running mate Bill Maher.....lol

It's wonderful that we have all this freedom and it's wonderful that we have all this prosperity. But for too many the idea of being an American and being free is: "Don't ever ask me to do anything, I'll drive whatever the hell I wanna drive! What do you think this is, Europe, bub?" That's not what is going to get the job done in the war on terror.

In 1963 when Kennedy said: "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country," that wasn't just elevator music, not just words from the latest empty suit to occupy the Oval Office. That was real stuff delivered to a country that had been through a war 15 years earlier, a war in which he'd made the sacrifice himself. And so there was no cynicism when people heard that. They nodded and went: "Yeah, that's about right."

We've come a long way in 40 years. A long way from that and we should get back to it.

Nefar what was the purpose of that? Do you think I didn't read that? Bill maher is a tree hugger...he is not making this point because of terror, he is making this point for environmental reasons--so why does he lie and pretend like he is doing it for a reason he is not. Be real Bill, don't front. He simply realized that unfortunately people don't care about the environment so he is trying to take another angle to influence people. Quite frankly the "buy gas support terror" campaign is dumber then the buy drugs support terror campaign. Both campaigns were not started for the reasons they claim. They did not bring up the terror/drug relationship because they were worried about terrorists getting funds from drugs they simply saw it as another way to influence people to stop using drugs. Same with the terror/gas relationship.

P.S. I buy all my Gas from Citgo, so what does Bill have to say about that?

look, he pointed out that americans are different now, than they
were say in the mid 1900s....everyone thinks they should
comusome, but back in the mid 1900s the govern't would ask
the ppl to save / sacrifice for the country...now a days, its like
fuck you, fuck that, i'll buy whatever the fuck i want to buy.

gas fform Citgo, blah!....lol.........USA will still get its 40%(give or take) of oil from the middle east. We need to work together, and
stop our dependency.

i must agree, he articulated his point much better than any of the majority of his fellow antiwar proponents, without all the needless mudslinging.
