LETHBRIDGE, Alberta (CP) -- Premier Ralph Klein says every man, woman and child in Alberta will get $400 each from the province's unbudgeted surplus -- the result of burgeoning oil and gas wealth.
Klein says the tax-exempt money will be included in one cheque and will be distributed before the end of the year.
The premier also says surplus cash will flow into two other priority areas -- infrastructure projects and various endowments.
The decision on how the money will be spent came at a cabinet meeting in Lethbridge, Alta.
The exact amount of surplus money that will be available has yet to be determined.
