Robbers Hit Sacramento Mini-Mart Three Times In Ten Days
June 20, 2009
SACRAMENTO - It happened not once, not twice, but three times at a South Sacramento mini-mart. A robber so brazen, he doesn't even bother trying to disguise himself, even grabbing a bottle of tequila on the way out. In just ten days the Fastrip gas station on Florin and Power Inn Roads was robbed of thousands of dollars.
"Three times. He doesn't care. They don't care. I believe that he might come back tonight again. Who knows?," said store owner, Amrik Singh.
Surveillance video caught the thieves in action. It shows two men standing in line, possibly trying to distract the clerk when the robber himself hops the counter and steals the money out of two cash registers. The video clearly shows a silver gun he used in the crime. There are 16 cameras in plain sight, but that didn't seem to matter.
"They don't care about 16 cameras or 20 cameras. They need the money. They're going to get the money," said Singh.
Store clerks believe it was the same guy each time.
"I was scared. They didn't say anything, just get the money and leave every time, same style," said Manjit Singh, a clerk at the store who was there during all three robberies.
Another clerk was so afraid he quit. No one was hurt during any of the robberies. But the store owner worries, next time they might not be so lucky. He's offering a $500 reward for any information leading to an arres
