Look for this book at your local book-store. It is a great tool, and will teach you to look at words as more than just set things you memorize, but rather things you can change and alter to create new words and terms.

Other than that, find yourself a GOOD History textbook (one with pictures, diagrams, etc.--not just PURE TEXT), and just sit down and start reading. History and Politics are more or less the same thing, and relate to the manipulation of each other. So it is not necessary to just jump into Political discussions if you want to learn about Politics.

Other than that, I'd just hop on WikiPedia (wikipedia.org) and go nuts. Learn about countries, France, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, China, Russia, and see what is happening; if you feel froggy, learn about Spanish, French, German, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, etc. Read 30-60 minutes or more a week and it will all catch up to you.

Uh....Yeah. Something like that? You sound mad because I say verily instead of Holla or Cosign or some other ignorant shit.

How about you find YOURSELF a personality and some words that are largely attributed to you? There's an idea.

Ive been checkin out wikipedia and the only thing that interest me was deathrow inmates last meals lol other then that i checked out the lost cities such a city that was buried under ashes. Don't remember the name of the city(already forgot). History bores me alot. Especially spanish battles... it's the same stuff. Conspiracy, unknown, corrupt, danger reads interest me.

You have any other suggestion on what i should check out on wikipedia? specific things that i should search that might be interesting yet knowledgfull.

Don't waste your time on the internet - sure, a lot of it will help you achieve what you want to achieve, but most of it is bullshit. I must agree with HERESY whole-heartedly in saying that in order to build up a strong vocabulary you need to read, and READ A LOT. Remember though that Intelligent discussions have less to do with the vocabulary you use to convey your message and more about the background knowledge that you have gained whilst building such a vocabulary. You can know every word in the dictionary and still fail to understand the context in which that word should be used.

Read whatever you find interesting - perhaps science books, perhaps political history or philosophy, even fiction or science fiction can offer some very good lessons. If you don't find it interesting though, don't waste your time, so experiment - go to your local library and hire a few beginners books on several different topics and see what you like. Good luck!

That having been said, the ^^^^ comments here are a recipe for becoming nothing more than a clone, a lemming, a flim-flammer and a charlatan.

Do not just build vocabulary; build a UNIQUE vocabulary. Use words that are, while not completely alien, become very familiar to you. (Do a search on the word flim-flammer to see what I mean.) You will find that carefully placing them into arguments will get people to say the stupidest shit, setting up an easy victory. This is especially true with adverbs, because people are idiots and don't understand how they work.

The books, by the way, were:

Western Civilization, by Perry.

http://product.half.ebay.com/Western-Civilization_W0QQprZ1039596QQtgZinfo

Fucking ridiculous the price on this. Its hundreds of pages long, with pictures, diagrams, and everything else, and being sold for $3 BRAND NEW.

There is also the second volume, for $4 brand new.

This shit mostly put me to sleep too, but it is very valuable to have. If you suddenly feel the need to read up about the Renaissance, you don't need to go Yahoo'ing and Googling, and sorting through bullshit sites to find what you need.

You'll have everything right there, all in the right order.

Read about our country, from other country's points of view.

I'd also recommend just reading anything and everything that interests you. If you find something, read it. Frequenting this forum and reading discussions (and contributing) will help too. Don't be afraid to ask someone to explain something to you, even if some people in here are assholes.

Ooooh, shit - that's a real eye opener. If you do read about America from foreign points of view, just remember that the majority of what they say is to do with your politics and less about your people.
