Lil' Wayne was arrested by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) last night (Jan. 22) in Arizona.
Lil' Wayne was arrested near Yuma, Arizona and is currently in the custody of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Department.
It is reported that around 11:30 pm last night Wayne's tour bus was stopped at a checkpoint on Interstate 8 near Dateland. A narcotics dog detected drugs on the bus and a search turned up 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and an unspecified amount of the drug ecstasy.
He will be arraigned on charges of possessing dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lil' Wayne is expected to appear in court today (Jan. 23).
Lil' Wayne was released from an Arizona jail yesterday (Jan. 24) after being arrested on three felony drug charges.
The rapper posted a $10,185 bond and was released from the Yuma County Jail. He signed autographs for fans outside of a bail bondsman's office.
Lil' Wayne's tour bus was stopped about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 22) at a checkpoint on Interstate 8 near Dateland. A narcotics dog detected drugs on the bus and a search turned up 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and an unspecified amount of the drug ecstasy. Also found was a .40-caliber pistol registered to the rapper who has a license for the weapon in Florida. Authorities are looking into whether or not he violated any weapons laws in Arizona.
According to Lil' Wayne's attorney James Tilson, the rapper was not formally charged and is due back in court Jan. 25.
