CLAIM - LIDDELL WAS IN REHAB JUST BEFORE JACKSON KO: In an interview with that esteemed bastion of sports journalism, BLOODY KNUX, UFC fighter Vernon White twice claims that Chuck Liddell was in rehab for a substance abuse issue just before his embarrassing defeat at the hands of Quentin Jackson on May 23.

White first said, "I can’t bad mouth Chuck. He just came off a hard loss. Chuck just got out of re-hab, but I do have to say it was stupid for him to come out of re-hab and fight Quentin the way he fought him. He should have fought a smarter fight. Quentin’s my boy, I love you, and hold that belt forever."

White later clarified his remarks about Liddell's stay in a treatment facility, but the gist remained the same: "I'd heard he'd been in drug rehab for an addiction, and got back in the cage too soon. He shouldn't of taken a fight with Jackson so lightly.

"I heard it from a close friend, so maybe I shouldn't have commented on it. After seeing him nod off on that talk show it seems very reliable. His publicist should be shot for letting him in public in that condition."

its still no excuse, he lost fair and square....that fight was all about who struck first, since rampage did, he won the fight.....wouldnt mind seeing a rematch...

There is a clip on YouTube where Chuck is in the crowd for a UFC fight and he looks straight crackish. I don't like how people are making all of these victim statements to try and discredit Page's win tho...he got caught square on the chin.

Yeah, he lost it and it wasn't because he was in rehab. If he was in rehab I'd like to know how he was doing interviews and appearing in magazines. Vernon White is an idiot, Rampage is a bad ass that whipped Chuck fair and square. (I still hate him though)

^^^^wow....you must have had your eyes closed the entire 10 seconds after chuck hit him with the punch that knocked him down becuz chuck was OUT FUCKING COLD...his body went stiff even for a quick second till Rampage hit him again and brought him back.

get the fuck outta here with "the ref called it too soon".

LOL i knew there would be another excuse. All those people were saying.."oh, chuck is such a warrior for not even telling anybody about his leg injury." I want to see how they going to turn this excuse around LOL.

That's funny,some guy I work with (jui jitsu brown belt)told me about 6 months ago that Chuck was a heroin addict(not booze or yip).Dude is a straight forward kat,but I thought it was pure bullshit when he told me that,but who the fuck knows.Got his ass beat regardless.

LOL @ anyone thinking Chuck would have a chance against Page in a rematch. What in their two fights would give you any indication that this would be true ?


Horrible style matchup for Chuck, because Page's style doesn't allow him to land those counter wide right hooks that he's known for. Notice, Page always has his feet set while he's stalking. Reminds me of an MMA version of Glen Johnson.

You have to take the fight to Rampage if you want to be successful.

he did not call it too soon. as much as i wanted to see a longer more competitive fight you can clearly see Lidell on the floor taking blow after blow with his arms all rubbery doing nothing to defend himself....
