Good lenses to get imo would be a telezoom(70-200), a prime(50mm), A wide angle(10-22) and maybe a macro...then youre straight...it also depends on what you tryin to shoot...

I would save a little more bread and get an 18-200 if canon has one.... it will cover a couple ranges, wont need the 18-55, 55-200. Good for sports/outdoors and portraits. The 50mm is fast for low light shooting.

How exactly r wide angle lenses?
bruh I think maybe you should read a field guide book for your camera or start with watching a gangload of streaming videos to fully understand the technical aspects of the camera and lens. chances are a lot of what you want to improve on with your pics doesn't have anything to do with upgrading your lens.

I recently picked up a nikon d3000 so I'm new to the dslr game. In the same boat really. Personally its complicated for me to grasp many photography concepts but I'm hella happy that i'm slowly but surely picking it up.

After understanding your kit or standard midrange lens. it's all about what type of pictures are you trying to take. A nice wide angle would be dope but telephoto, wide angle, macro, fisheye, etc. are all unique and important too.

You don't want wide angle then, you're looking for Telephoto/Zoom lenses.

Wide Angle is for up close shots where you're trying to fit more in the picture.

The deeper I got into photography I found that It's not the camera that matters, but good lighting and a decent lens.

Check out the 55-200 or 70-300, if they have those for Canon, I imagine they're cheapaer for Canon because Nikon's glass is $$.

You can even try this place.. www.borrowlenses.com

it's saved me a lot of money, trying lenses before I buy them.

The lenses mostly used in Studios are Telephoto, Like if you've ever been to Karmaloop, the shots of all the models wearing the clothes is shot with a telephoto lens.

Also make sure u get a filter for every lens it protects the glass on the actual lens from dust/scratches/impact.

Any questions you got you can post em here or PM me.. I was in the same shoes as you about a year or two ago.

Actually for those shots in particular you definately need the wide angle cuz a telephoto will flatten the perspective( you will only get a lil part of the liq in the background)...you should also play around with your shot angles(either from your camera or try movin your subjects around in the frame). And btw Nikon's prices arent that much diff from Canon's

Yeah like I said though, Wide Angle lens is for trying to fit more into the picture when you're up close to your subject.. so if that sounds like what you need, get a wide angle, if you're trying to shoot from a distance Telephoto is the way, like sports or outdoors where you can't be too close to the action.
