legal question..

ok, my friend and me and another guy got pulled over tonite. im 15, the driver was 16 (under 6 motnhs, so it was illeagal for us to be riding), and the other kid was 17 (1 month from 18, which will play into it.)

so this cop that knew us all from different shit in the past pulls us over for some bullshit (she says our tailight was out, but it wasnt..) and she figures out we sohuldnt be in the car.. COOL! anyways.. she tells us to get out of the car, and she starts searching us.. this made me wonder.. can she just search us? she didnt ask for our permission, and she just told us ta spread em and started pattin us down.. at this point i was like 'dont you need a warrant or some shit' and she was like 'im in charge, thanks'

so now i was gettin pissed, and i was ilke whatever all i had on me was a Garcia..MIP big deall.. my 17 year old friend was a little more stuck.. out of his pocket came a 1/4 oz, and like 15 gram bags.. now it was gettin real bad. so they search the car.. and the driver's phone was ringin off the hook.. i guess some kid was sposed to get picked up.. so the cop that came for backup or whatever PICKED UP HIS PHONE and pretended to be his friend and tried to get the kid calling to ask for bomb (cuz they suspected all of us to be dealers)..

is searching us and picking up his phone legal? i was so pissed and the cops kept talking to me like im trying to start shit..

I dont know about the phone thing, but if your under 18 Im pretty sure you can be searched FOR ANY REASON which is pretty gay. I think the phone thing could be a privacy violation, which could mean that if you took them to court on it you could probly get the other carges dropped but Im not a lawyer or anything. But always get a lawyer when you go to court even if its a public defender cause they know the law you dont.

if they have probably cause they can do a pat down search, and do a visual of the car, the phone thing sounds like entrapment to me... but they probably could get that dissmissed if you tried to press charges or bring it up in court...

"Reasonable Suspicion" basically entitles a cop to do whatever they want...Picking up the phone don't sound that out of the ordinary cause I've seen on COPS when they've called cats back who have paged someone lol
