One of the greatest and most unique voices in the history of rock and roll in my opinion and that of many others. It's a shame he traveled down such a self-destructive path that lead to his early death. The man was truly gifted and I am among the thousands, if not millions, that will forever be a fan of the amazing music that he left behind.

RIP Layne.

my uncle OD'd about 15 years ago, today would've been his 57th birthday. When AIC's self titled album came out it was about the same time my uncle was on his last legs, so I always kind of associated him with Layne. Watching the Unplugged series always makes me cry knowing what Layne was going through at the time through interviews and such. I wish I was old enough to be there for my uncle when he was going through the same thing. My uncle's memory, along with Layne's, will always bring me joy no matter what their deaths was brought on by.

I'm an atheist but I hope there's something that brings them both some sort of closure. May they rest in peace.
