Maybe he should go by el berner or pancho berner or even berner villa just so ppl know he's latin
LMAO!!!! That's just too funny.
On a serious note though:
I understand people stand by their beliefs and street politics etc etc...
BUT! At the end of it all, isn't it a business? Being that many artist are struggling, does it gives them the right to refuse service to anybody? I'm not saying collab and be buddy, buddy on some new best friends type shit, but expand to attract new fans. Are some of you that hold a 9 to 5 best of friends with your boss and all your co. workers? It's a got damn fact of life that you will have to bend rules in your life! If that's not true. How many regular people actually love their job?
I don't think artist like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne etc etc...any artist of that calibur (wether you like them, or not) gives two shits about who's buying their music. This is a Game of all, or nothing. It's one thing to stay solid on some street politics, but this is a whole different ball game. They say if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything, but what about standing by your music and believing that it's marketable in all areas? Does this mean when it comes to the music scene outside our realm we ain't shit? Yes, some artist have a strong buzz going in their neck of the woods, but anywhere outside of that realm is like striking a match in the wind. That is what we're actually saying right?
Much like the street code: Are recording artist in it to half step, or in it for the long haul in this music? In any business, they won't shut the door to a potential customer. Okay, I'll give it this...No shirt, no shoes, no service, but we're talking about corps (billion dollar corps). It's apples and oranges. It's broke ass artist refusing to make money, or connects. Right away people see the negative, but if the Latin Confrence is that big of an event, you would think perhaps a few big named Latin artist would perhaps make an appearance. What about scouts, radio promoters, major labels etc etc? I'm sure a few will be attending, but the mind frame always goes back to the negativity and everybody tries to flex how soild they are in the street which is pretty much setting us back to square one.
Are artist in it to make a quick buck, or millions? In another few years over half of the artist we hear about now (reguardless of color or creed) will never be heard from again and resort back to the dope game, or a regular 9 to 5. And in some cases for what? Because they refused to go the distance in the music business.
I just want to see where peoples heads are at. Go for it and let's blow it out of proportion!
