I'm fuckin wit it.
The Emotions, Deniece Williams, Barbara Lewis, The Honeycone, The Three Degrees, A Taste of Honey, Shirley Brown, Shirley Murdock and Dorothy Moore.

Only one I DONT wanna see is Dorthy Moore, cause I HATE her song "As we Lay"....

If yall fuck with old school music, whenever the oldies shows come around you should check out the LIVING LEGENDS who sing Classics before they pass on....

Many years ago, I listened to my broad and went to some wack ass party with her instead of getting my tickets to go see Rick James & Tina Marie on the Fire & Desire Tour....didnt go, Rick died like a month later...I aint makin that mistake again.

Got a chance to see Isaac Hayes in concert a few years back to before he died. Good Times. Best thing about it, older folks that are there to have a good time and kick it, aint no hard headed cats runnin around startin shit...if you get a chance, catch one of these shows.

the only one my young ass can recognize is taste of honey. got them on my player. my oldest bro laced me. i'll look up my list so far.

1/ gap of course.

2/ earth wind and fire.

3/ patrice rushen.

4/ lake side.

5/ sos band.

6/ slave.

he got a lot more thats just what he gave me to make a mix cd with.

the only show i went to, to see with older folks is a doo wop classics show. then we found out they were scamming people with cover bands with fake members haha, that was fucked up.

we have the originals on dvd though i bought them for my dads christmas present.

i love 70's and early 80's soul music, that shit is timeless and i'm not even from that era, i was a kid under 10 years old in the 80's, but i remember the 80's, but i came up in the 90's, thats my era

but that soul music from the 70's and early 80's was on some next shit, i don't know if it was the weed or what, but that music from that era was just on some next shit, i don't know the name of most of the artists, all names of songs, but if i hear shit, i will know what it is, real talk

i'd would have loved to have seen a concert from these artists

curtis mayfield
teddy pendegrass(even though i think i would only reach this wit a human being chick, ha ha, never on my ones, ha ha)
marvin gaye
isacc hayes
barry white(again, the same procedure as teddy)
minnie riperton

I agree... it lives up to its name, SOUL... I listen to early blues, soul, and classic rock from that era... I just think technology and society finally allowed certain people to have voice, that at one didn't have one... It was a shock to the scene because of the talent that was hidden away from mainstream America... I would say my favorite artists came from Stax Records though... Otis Redding, Isaac Hayas, Sam & Dave, ect...

yeah otis redding did his thing, sam cooke too and big shout out too james brown aswell, he represented, earth, wind & fire's shit was slick aswell and the isley brothers shit is on a next level, wit ron doing the vocals on that soul stuff, there shit was gangsta

but i can appreciate most forms of music from the 70's to the early 80's, even certain pop acts back then, because it seemed like back then you really had to be original and unique and you had to really be able to sing, play instrument's wit talent and have your own sound, even in pop music and everything sounded really breezy, wit lush strings, wit a real orchestral type vibe to most music back then, that era made sense to me musically man, real talk

CORRECTION: Punk ass Shirley Murdock sings "As We Lay" I gonna go get me some popcorn and take my bathroom break when her ass come on..

Dorthy Moore sings "Misty Blue" (for you youngstas thats the song that Mr. Doctor started off Setrippinblocstyle with..)

Speakin of Otis Redding- Have any of you watched that show Unsung? On the episode that they cover The Bar-Kays, they show the news footage of the plance crash that killed Otis and most of The Bar-Kays. Its a trip cause they actually show the footage of Otis Reddings body being pulled out the ocean, still in his plane seat buckled in....
