Harold invested a grand total of about 2,000 into his rap career, and made every penny back. I'll take that any day over someone who's spent 30, 40, $50,000 to date, and hasn't made HALF that back.

The name of the game is recouping. Not spending $20,000 on an album, collaborating with Bay rappers X, Y and Z, selling about 1000 copies, doing 5 shows, and spending thousands more on marketing.....and ending up in the hole $10,000.....only to spend 4-5 more years finishing the follow-up album. If you're going to be in the hole, you have to drop the follow-up ASAP to capitalize on what little momentum you built up while overspending on your last effort.

Then again.....the OP is a dipshit, so this discussion really isn't worth having. He'll speak on my girlfriend, his college degree, this and that, etc, but won't discuss topics of actual importance to the members of this forum--i.e., recouping, marketing budgets, fan support, and the like. In short....friend Ryan....you're an ignorant ass bitch with an axe to grind, and no appreciable knowledge to share.


As for Roll Call, if you don't like it, shut it off. It was turned off shortly afterwards because none of us were enjoying it. And it's really not my place to tell someone else what to do with their radio. I don't like people telling me what to listen to!!! Ya dig? And I did say, "change this shit, I can rap better." Which is actually when it was changed to some other bullshit. But I'm not going to shank them in the neck for not changing it the second that I speak up. Some people do what they like and what they please, others do what people tell them to like and do. You tell people like me not to rap. You tell other rappers they should quit. These are not simple opinions you are expressing; these are calls for action.

You say "I am an individual", over and over again.....but yet and still, your primary argument why people like me shouldn't rap is...more or less...because I'm not from Seattle. So what does that translate to exactly? You're allowed to be an individual--because you're from Seattle--but because I'm from Aberdeen, I can't be an individual? I can't do what I'm good at? I can't do what people tell me I should do--which is make music? If i don't come from XYZ City, population 500,000 or more--then people aren't allowed to enjoy my voice making words rhyme over a beat?

Alas....I am not here to ask a million questions. But if you look at the above two paragraphs, you'll see that this conversation has indeed come full circle. Roll Call, as KUBE93 does it, would not be any fun if they had nothing but professional rappers on every single time. The reason the segment lives is because it never gets boring--because you're always going to have a mix of 80% people who are crazy as shit....and 20% that actually know what they're doing.

kube is garbage. they play the same old shit and the same new lame shit. they still play everything out in 2 days....i listened to it cuz there wasn nothin else on when I was driving around for work for about 6 hours....I heard the same songs, over and over. I heard that fucking Ray J song "Sexy Can I" about 4-5 times in 6 hours. that's pretty ridiculous....along with that garbage ass song lollipop.....

that's why i listen to kiro radio now...or cds....i don't listen to music on the radio anymore unless there's no reception in one of the work trucks (the antenae is fucked off)....I did listen to Jammin when I drove down to portland last summer...it was better than kube but not by much....
