I am not at all suprised that no one has mentioned the recent GM survey on players, teams, and coaches in the NBA. In a recent poll, General Managers have voted Kobe Bryant to be the best Shooting Guard in the NBA, Iverson wasn't even close.

Who is the best shooting guard in the NBA?

Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers 52.4%
Tracy McGrady, Orlando 33.3%
Allen Iverson 4.8%
Paul Pierce 4.8%
Ray Allen 4.8%

Which player in the NBA would you want taking a shot with the game on the line?

Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers 52.4%
Reggie Miller, Indiana 14.3%
Tim Duncan, San Antonio 9.5%

Kobe also finished in a tie for 3rd for MVP predictions, and 4th for players who a GM would sign if they were staring a new franchise. Interesting, not only do espn/nba analysts agree with me, but now GM's as well. Ahhhhh, what do General Managers know about basketball anyways, right?

Can you two please explain to me how having Shaq is going to make Iverson, or any player for that matter better. The way I see it, your points per game are going to drop considerably seeing how Shaq is always in the top 5 in scoring. Your rebounds... forget about it, the most dominant player in history will snatch up most of them. Assists, they should be one of the only catagories where you will improve in. Now, the major thing, of course, is you will be more likely to win a ring and get recognized on a super-star level, but as a stand alone player, what do you guys think Shaq is going to help you achieve? Your numbers will fall, as will you into his shadow. If you put Kobe on the Grizzlies, he is going to score at least 35 a game with increased rebounding. Kobe on the 76ers? Forget about it...

So were talking about how great Shaq is now... that's not what this thread is about. This thread is about who General Managers think is best at the Shooting Guard position. Now you can say they picked him because of those titles, but ill come back and show you the rest of the results where players who haven't even seen the finals were voted #1.

The polls are just to remind you how little you know about basketball, not to change your mind. Iverson had plenty of help, and if it weren't for his selfishness, they might have won it.

indeed interesting, mcgrady aint that bad but damn GM's passed him up like nothing

yo nitro, CZAR aint never gonna change his mind about Kobe, hes set for life, i would not waste my time arguing with him

as for give Iverson or Mcgrady a Shaq, hell yeah i would like to see that, i would like to see if they can indeed score like Kobe did last year

Im saying this as a basketball fan not a laker fan

I WOULD PICK KOBE TOO!!!!!!

Mcgrady would be a close consideration but Kobe would be my pick, Iverson is cool too
