I remember the thread...just have been kind of uninspired at times to help.
- My biggest issue I would say is your voice...which you can play to your strengths... Sometimes when you rap..I say damn I cant fuck with that Cholo rap...I think Im listening to lil rob or something most of this at times is your tone of your voice and i think how you do your doubles in your songs. Even when you on point my ears cant take it anymore.Your lyrics are pretty good, but I dont feel you have found that style thats gonna give you the presence on the track to stand out..im hearing what i perceive as impressions...which many do.
Many months ago you said something like you putting out 12 albums....in my mind was why 12? Why not do one or two good ones...When you asked for beat contributions that pretty much told me you doin the best ya can with what you can get...thats not always good enough. too many artists not really investing in themselves which sometimes degrades the quality and waters down the industry and also sets a bad tone for the type of quality thats goin down in a certain region.
What would I do if I was you...first and this is for anyone...stop making albums...they dont sell.....make songs. Instead of spending a budget on an album take that budget and do one or two good songs and sell online...add the songs to an archive that can also later be purchased...my point is make a song or two that you got the exact quality beat, recording, mixdown you could possibly get instead of some producers throw away beats, shitty recording and the homie mixdown. If you cant afford to invest in yourself to do two songs...then do all the other artists who serious a favor and fall to the back.
So you have a few tight songs..now market them....Chrymes you paddling upstream....I feel its safe to say you probably think that you are an artist and your music will be loved by everyone....besides eminem, beastie boys, and few other white boys..white boys are not the safest investment in an urban market such as Rap...let alone WestCoast street type shit, this goes for chicano rappers as well....besides Lil Rob who has had a limited success..but no big mainstraem appeal..chicano rappers are not embraced as well... Is this right...probably not but it is what it is...
So I feel you should target the biggest group that will support you, and from what i have heard in your music and what you have said..it seems like you know who really supports you. This is not to say different people wont like you..Im saying use your energy on the biggest market.
IF I WERE U I WOULD CAPITALIZE ON THE FREE PROMO AND PUMP THE HELL OUTTA STALKER AT LEAST HE HAS COO MUSIC.. CUZ UR SKILLS AINT UP TO PAR. :devious:
