So they say....in a commercial, that this weekend is dedicated to local Bay Area artists, local underground and world famous ones, and they say they gonna play 2 hours straight of Bay Area music tommarow night, we'll see how much luv they show, right now there's a Redman song on

lol...for real though. I was listening to it last night, and they played Bay shit from like 9 to 10 before they went into the Battle of the Bay. BUt is this 2 hour thing going to be a weekly event or just this week only?

Hey, it's a start in the right direction, at least... I see a general trend of them slowly starting to support bay music again, with the freestyle battles and a little bit of air time now and again. It's not all we could want or hope for, but it is better than nothing.

2 HOURS IS BETTER THEN NO AIR PLAY AT ALL.

BUT IF BAY ARTISTS MADE MORE RADIO TYPE MUSIC THEN I THINK THAT THEY WOULD GET ON THE RADIO MORE. OR AT LEAST MAKE EDITED VERISONS. CUZ HOW MANY SONGS CAN THEY PLAY THIS WEEKEND???

I WAS LISTNING LAST NIGHT AND THEY PLAYED "WHO YA WIT" MIXED INTO THAT E-40 SONG. I THINK THAT ITS CALLED GASOLINE BUT IM NOT SURE BUT THE WHOLE SONG IS JUST HIM.

BUT THEN THE NEXT SONG WAS "IN THE CLUB". THEN I STOPPED LISTENING. THEN I A HOUR OR SO LATER THEY PLAYED A BAY VERISON OF "IN THE cLUB" BUT IM NOT SURE WHO IT WAS BY.

Yeah they are trying its from 6 to 8 tonite too, also The bay got to start making tight shit too and quit crying about the radio some of this shit being brought down there to be played quality is so bad that you wouldnt want to hear it in a walkman especially on the radio! i mean i heard some shit dropped off down there by a known Bay rapper which i wont say any names that was really fuckin terrible! I mean bad we got to step it up with our production out here, fuck it im going to go ahead and say it the radio all across the US follows a format of music they play and out of all the producers in the Bay(from what ive heard) Ric Rock is THE ONLY ONE making shit hot enuff to fit that format! Sorry but thats not just my opinion its the opinion of every mixer in Northern Calif.. Trust me ive been doing homework with all these djs from Sac To The Bay 102 & 103 in sac, & 106 & 94.9 up here Thats not saying theres no other prducers in The Bay with heat cuz i know the politics that are going on but he is coming with the most consistency

very true.........the only thing I don't like is KMEL run those ads sayin they "always repped the Bay" which is not true

they doin the 2 hours straight Bay Area music right now on KMEL, so far they've played some E-40 and some Digital Underground

I agree, dont get me wrong my few lil spins in by no way me riding for KMEL! i just defend the people with Jobs jus making a living who dont make the rules over there, they are just there making a living and puttin it on the line to do what they can for me so I ride for them, but KMEL or not they bang my shit in the clubs and thats where i need to be.. Radio is just a plus a big one but cant count on that cuz if they lost thier jobs tomorrow they will still play me in the clubs but my radio spins would stop
