Ill start this off by sayin after hearin this nigga for the first time in 96-97...he forever changed rap as I knew it. My favorite rapper at the time was Lynch, had the nigga in heavy rotation.

C-Bo was also up there at the surface too. So when West Coast Trippin vol. 1 came out there was no second guessing about makin that purchase.

Damn I'm glad I did because 99% of that album SLAPPED! imo. And a big part of that was because of this nigga I had never heard of before....KILLA TAY

And THIS was the song that popped it off for me...

Listening to Killa Tay on Awol back in the day I thank god for that rewind button cause them verses had me rewinding the shit outta them cassettes. I had to go buy the cd's. I remember buyin that Mr Mafioso at the Funky Chicken in the fairfield mall and to this day thats one of the best albums I ever heard. But I must say Thug Religion was way ahead of its time.

To me Tay redefined the way "I" felt niggaz shoulda been spittin on tracks. Tay spat/spits with so much visciousness and intensity he was in a league all by himself for a while...a long while. It was like he invented a whole new category of rap. I still get hyped up when I go back and listen to them old verses. Shit, when ever I do decide to sit my ass down and write a rap from time to time, Killa Tay is definately one of the niggaz who I can honestly say inspires the fuck outta me. Even if I do see him on these boards and dont speak...this is what I think.

Thanks for all the motivation and tracks you have blessed us with over the years mayne...stay grindin and doin what you do....we are all watchin...listenin.....and patiently waitin.

One of my favs right here....

He's definitely one of my favorties if not thee favorite.

Tay, Cube, E-40, MacDre, B-Legit.... can't go wrong with any of them.
