I would never pay for a drum sound.
beat me to it.

Man if u can't find them online for free, SAMPLE THEM!!!

I remember a sound I used in my earlier days on some albums I did production on. It was a rim shot that I took from the "Hurricane" instrumental by The Click. At the studio when I was layin a song down Johnny Z was trippin like "Where'd u get that clean shot?"

Gotta be creative bro. Everyone else including your favorite producers do it. And 99% of those drum kit CDs have sounds that were just cut from other songs anyway.

Truth. And, with these Drum Kits, your only going to use a quarter of the sounds IF THAT. I've gone through hundreds of drum kits. I'm talking thousands and thousands of drum hits, one shots, etc. And I've only kept like a quarter of them, most of them are bunk, you have to sift through the junk and pick out the gems, and create your own custom library. That's what separates producers other than their style (if any.) And like Mark said, sample sounds too.
