BERKELEY, California (AP) — Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson was mugged at gunpoint Wednesday, robbed of money and jewelry but unhurt, police said.
Police said Johnson was accosted by two men as he was talking on his cell after walking out of a barber shop.
"Johnson gave up his money and jewelry and the suspects fled," Lt. Eric Gustafson said. No arrests have been made.
Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowl receiver, was deactivated for the final six games of last season, and the Buccaneers plan to either trade or release him. He was the first pick in the 1996 draft by the New York Jets, who traded him to Tampa Bay three years ago for two No. 1 draft choices.
I WONDER WHY HE DID NOT GET ALL BOLD AND YELDED IN THEY FACE LIKE DID HIS COACHES
MAYBE THIS WILL HUMBLE HIM SOME?
HAS ANYONE SEEN A SUPERBOWL RING ON EBAY?
