Cintron-Margarito Rematch Possible For Dec. 1

According to a recent report by Dan Rafael, a rematch between IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron and Antonio Margarito is possible for a main event slot on December 1 on Showtime.

Showtime has been in discussions to place Cintron in a main event slot on the show, provided that he beats Jessie Feliciano on Sept. 8. Top Rank has apparently been contacted about the availablity of both Antonio Margarito and Joshua Clottey as possible opponents.

IBF junior welteweight champ Paulie Malignaggi is a possibilty for the co-feature slot, although it doesn't appear like he will be facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as many would like. Names being thrown around as possible opponents are Herman Ngoudjo, the mandatory IBF challenger, or Francisco "Panchito" Bojado, if he gets by Steve Forbes on Sept. 15.

I'd like to see it. Kermit looked great last month, but the first fight was so lopsided I don't see it going any other way.
