Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock has carved out a substantial legacy in the sport of mixed martial arts, with his Lion’s Den team recognized as the blueprint of countless training squads to come. Now, Shamrock’s “other” legacy, his 18-year-old son Ryan, will follow his father’s lead, stepping into the cage on Aug. 25 at the Feather Falls Casino in Oroville, Calif. to make his MMA debut. Ryan will appear in an event promoted by his famous pop alongside the debut of Lion’s Den first female cat Kristen Niedzielski. Ryan’s weight division has not been announced.

OROVILLE, CALIF. – Since leaving the UFC, Ken Shamrock has been keeping himself busy. Not only has he been coaching his Nevada Lions in the International Fight League and revived his Lion’s Den fight team, he has also been training his family to follow in his footsteps.

Last Saturday at Fight At The Falls in Oroville, Calif., a Ken Shamrock Productions event, Shamrock’s oldest son Ryan stepped into the cage, where his father was one of the early pioneers.

It seems Ryan has been a diligent student. In just one minute and fifty-one seconds, he choked out Josh Besneatte, who was also making his fight debut, in the first round.

The family fun doesn’t stop there either. Not to be outdone by his cousin, the elder Shamrock’s nephew, Jeff Jorgenson, in another bout of debuting fighters, also finished his opponent, Kyle Davey, with a choke in the first round.

FIGHT AT THE FALLS RESULTS:

-Kristin Niedzulski def. Shawn Tamaribuchi – TKO (Ref Stoppage)

-Kenji Alejandre def. Angelo Robledo – TKO (Strikes)

-Devin Conkling def. Robert Bell – Decision (Unanimous)

-Jeffrey Jorgenson def. Kyle Davey - Submission (Choke)

-Brookins Delano def. Salah Zabian – TKO (Strikes)

-Lance Wipf def. Cole Nagy – Decision (Split)

-Leland Gridley def. Joe Martin – TKO (Ref Stoppage)

-Ryan Shamrock def. Josh Besneatte – Submission (Choke)

-Darrin Freeman def. Sam Zamarron – TKO (Strikes)

-Randall Limond def. Gary Golden – Disqualification
