I am from kc so I can say this.....kc is jinxed. The chiefs suck... the royals suck..no nba team..cant agree on light rail...no claim to fame..people in other cities barely hear of anything exiting about us.

...my point is If tech was gonna put kc on the map he would have done it by now.
You guys are just like chiefs fans at the beginning of a season..brainwashed to think they are gonna win a superbowl.

The AP album is doing the same thing as Anghellic.Dont you guys see the trend!!!

I hear people talking about "Imma Tell" being the next video/single

what for?..If people aint hearing "slacker"
how in the hell they gonna hear about "Imma Tell"????

I love Tech but come on now..his marketing is pathetic!!!

peep this:

"imma playa"(should be the first single/video..catchy remake the people will quickly relate too..Thats how you get people noticing!!!

second single..."slacker"...when the world notices him after "imma playa"
then he can introduce himself as a "slacker"..people can relate and get a feel for him more.

then with all eyes on him he displays some credibility by releasing "she-devil"...D-12 well know rap group..and the song is blazing!!..(but has to make a clean version)

...lastly gunz will bust,or industry is punks(clean version)

think about it!!

i am feelin ya about the sports but not the music. Kansas city is a tough market to please. You have more people who want to listen to whats cool rather than find something new. I dont know if you have ever lived in kansas or missouri, but if you have then you would know that most trends start on the west or east coasts and then go to the midwest. I know that tech would never leave KC just because the town has made him who he really is.

The other thing about marketing is that you have a budget. If only tech had a bunch of money he could sell tech this and tech that. He has been with a big company several times and we all know what the end result was. Right now i believe that both tech and travis know exactly what they are doing and need to do. The more fans spread the word to other people the more FREE advertisement they would get. It would have been nice if tech would have been really big by one of these huge record companies but if he can do it the way he is now than it will make him that much more famous and successful

I feel ya but Im talking nationally...kc market is too small he has to spend the little time and money on spreading the word better.

Isnt MSC music backing STRANGE??
are'nt they an interscope spinn off??

Kck1234 you said it, the same way that I would've put it man... When I first heard Slacker at the studio, I swore that it had Nationwide written all over it, but when we heard Imma Tell I thought differently, and at that time, they were deciding whether to have Slacker or Imma Tell as the single... We were begging him to do Imma Tell, and we thought that he was going to do that, but we came to find out that Slacker was the single... Ir's alright, but I am pretty sure that they know they made a big mistake... And then again, that's fucked up how the tight singles like It's Alive, no one hears them, but when some shit like Slacker comes out, everyone hears the shit from North Dakota to Japan, and they think that, that is all he has to offer.... I understand why people dont feel it, because we can't move to it.. Its an "iffy" song...

I agree with you man... And I believe that it isn't over for him just yet on Absolute Power, we still have Imma Tell coming.. So that should hit real good.... Hopefully....

to be honest, i think they shoulda done 'industy' made an alternate-lyrics version (without the fucks and so forth)
it woulda been a big risk tho. but that's an energetic track and it's different , people woulda have either thought 'wow this is something new and it kicks ass' or they would hate it. that would have been a great single tho

MSC IS ACTUALLY A GUY BY THE NAME OF MARK WHO WAS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL FOUNDERS OF PRIORITY RECORDS. THEY PUT OUT ARTIST SUCH AS GHETTO BOYS, ICE CUBE AND NWA TO NAME A FEW. GETTING ANYONE OUT THERE IS MUCH HARDER THAN YOU MIGHT THINK, MARK AND TRAVIS HAVE PUT ALOT OF MONEY INTO GETTING THE MUSIC PLAYED BUT KNOW MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PAY THESE STATIONS TO PLAY THE MUSIC THEY ARE NEVER SATISFIED AND NEVER FOLLOW THRU WITH WHAT THEY SAY. THAT IS THE REASON FOR THE UP COMING FTI CAMPAIGN, TECH AND MANY OTHER ARTIST ARE SICK OF PAYING THERE DUES AND STILL NOT GETTING THERES. WATCH AND SEE IT WILL BE ALL GOOD HERE SOON!!!! HAVE FAITH.

Check it...

Ummm mmm ...
I like the chiefs... they do not suck in my opinion and maybe I am biased cause I have been a fan all my life and finally see a system that can work in KC...
I like the royals... Its not their fault that KC has NO money and the market sucks!
With no money there is no chance for an NBA team...

Bottom line is that KC itself is pretty much dying...why? Cause everyone who grew up there and is worth anything trys to make it somewhere else... go out to LA, NYC, anywhere except trying to make it here and revitalize an area that has been dying since the civil rights trials(as in ... 'hard times') of the 1960s... Also...there is this whole midwest laid back and never wantin to commit attitude or never wanna support attitude that proliferates this area... not sayin that individuals are bad...but people here seem disinterested in progressing...they just want kc to stay the same and wonder why it isn't when they don't try... ... ...just my $00.02 ... ... ...

Everything has different angles and views to look at or from... you never know how shit is gonna work out till you look back in retrospect... you pick a line or a groove or a direction and work that way... It may work or it won't ... ... ... and I think eventually all the hardwork STRANGE has put in will get them in place they want...!!!

PEACE all...Stran-J

hey...also... with industry is punks if that had been their first single, not only would have that have been bad for them, but as a radio play song... the refrain would have gotten so annoying to a lot of folks... ... ... I really like Playa and yet at the same time...it is highly possible that a lot of people would have been like..."shit, that subject matter was played out five years ago" ... Imma tell is hella tight, but people could still have been like what the fuck... ... ... like i said before...it is hard as hell to know what anyone is gonna like you just take aim and fire... ... ...

PEACE...Stran-J

whoa, what? Um, isn't that illegal?
IT IS HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED. THE RADIO STATIONS USE THESE PEOPLE CALLED INDIES AND THE ARTIST PAY THEM MONEY TO GET THERE SHIT PLAYED AND THAT MONEY GOES TO THE STATION FOR PLAYING THE MUSIC AND SO ON. IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL IT IS LIKE SOME OLD SCHOOL MAFIA SHIT. ALOT OF PEOPLE AER REAL FED UP WITH IT AND ARE STARTING TO SPEAK OUT ON THE SUBJECT.
