Well this is about the best news we've had on a Saturday in a long time. The Kansas City Chiefs and Jamaal Charles have agreed upon a 5-year, $32.5 million dollar contract extension. The important part of this contract is the $13 million in guaranteed money. ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report the extension.

Cassel is OUT!!!

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Saturday night that quarterback Matt Cassel is out for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers.

The Chiefs said Cassel, who underwent an emergency appendectomy Wednesday, didn't make the trip to San Diego. He had been listed as doubtful but didn't practice Thursday and Friday.

Brodie Croyle will start against the Chargers. His record as a starter is 0-9.

while i knew we would lose this game.....especially with brodie at qb.....i am very dissappointed the whole team played like it. i fully expected the chiefs to play hrd and physical because the division was in our hand. but .......now we are in a no lose situation. we have to win out now.....period.

I think the Chargers run the table and win the division. I think we end up 9-7 but it won't be enough. KC, I think they are overrated and suck. Yea Cassel being out hurt, but at the same time they didnt call plays to be successful. San Diego knew they would be one dimensional and they were. 4 first downs? REALLY?
