Drop your KC top 10 here.

Also put down who you think the "FIRST" artist is gonna be to bring back a GOLD or PLatinum plate back to the town since TECH (even though he's one of the hardest" has failed to do so.

Drop your thoughts

Not these are not all in order I havent put that much thought into it.

Tech N9ne
Kutt Calhoun
The Incredible Zig
Short Nitty
Court Dog
Lejo
Snug Brim
Skatterman
Grant Rice
Dove Dawg

and Kaliko as a rapper ranks right up there too....its really tough to pick a top 10.....

The first person from KC to reach Gold certification from the RIAA will be......hell I dunno Sole didnt even go gold with "Skin Deep", But is technically the first GOLD rapper from KC, she was certified Gold on the single "4,5,6" back in 2000.

do you want the top MC's listed by lyrical ability or how they sound on a record and compiling it into a successful LP/EP, or both?...because many times I believe that people have superb lyrical skills but their album isn't always reflective of that. Just a question.

On the real......I put Kutt at #2 only because dude's new shit is a billion times better than what I heard from him 5 years ago. His new shit might sell more copies than anyone in KC has ever thought about. I never thought he was that tight until about a year ago. But the new album is top notch material. Ya'll see.

Rich The Factor is a big favorite in KC and the Bay, but he's not really one of my personal favorites. I think if you're going to be a great MC, you need to keep your content changing frequently. He makes great music, but when you say MC to me i think of the Rakim's and the Kool G Rap's of the world. It's more about the lyrical content to me than anything.

I'd also like to apoligize for not putting The Popper in my list, he's top 5 material. Also E-Skool is a top 10 rapper in KC too.

And the "I'm Not Bow Wow" Award goes to The Secret Weapon. I hope this dude is still workin on his stuff. He came tighter than anyone in the Veteran Click on a few songs off The Day We Worldwide. I'd like to hear some new shit from him.

But as far as talent is concerned......I dont see anyother small towns like KC puttin out this many dope lyricists. I'd put this city up against any other city in the united states. Pound for Pound, its the best city for rap IMHO.

I'm confused...are we going top 10 songs....because XTC would be in there . or is it top 10 MC's.... you would have to add Mac Lethal to the list. I don't feel all of his songs. But he is winning major MC Battles all over the country for KCMO. outside of that most of my top 10 were already put down except one. PROFIT KCMO....... If you haven't heard it check it out. I know he is talking major work with some labels and deserves it. It's real shit, JOSE will even like it. JayDub and the Ville will like it and it ain't even on 70 mile. Swicks gonna like it and DOVE ain't even on it. ZERO won't like it though..................lol
