TWO MORE CBS DJS IN DUTCH
By MICHAEL STARR
April 24, 2007 -- DJs JV and Elvis have been suspended "until further notice" over a prank phone call to a Chinese restaurant last Friday.
The duo's show, "The Dog House with JV & Elvis," airs on Free FM (92.3 FM) - which, like Don Imus' former station, WFAN, is part of the CBS Radio family.
Last Friday, JV and Elvis phoned a Chinese restaurant on the air and said to the person who answered the phone, "I would like some Asian food, son of a b**ch."
They then said to a female restaurant employee, "Should I come to your restaurant so I can see you naked? That way I can see your hot Asian spicy a**."
They signed off with the comment: "Tell that hot Asian girl answering the telephone, I'd like to tap her a**."
JV (whose real name is Jeff Vandergrift) apologized for the comments twice on yesterday's show, once at the beginning of the show and again when he signed off.
But it was not enough to save them from suspension.
The company announced their suspension "without pay" shortly after the show ended yesterday.
It appears CBS will bring the duo back at some point because Free FM is airing "Best of" JV and Elvis shows in their usual timeslot (9 a.m.-noon).
