When did Yuckmouth turn gangsta? I remember when I met them back before 5 on it came out they were pushing them tapes for 5 bucks and they were cool doods. Him and Numbskull. Yuckmouth had a smooth flow and was the "Funny" goofy type rapper sort of like a Humpty Hump type. Next thing I know he moves to houston and he's on some rough voiced thug shit. Am I the only person who noticed this? I got that old album from them the one with the condom on the cover. I cant even remember the name of that joint. All I know is he was much better then.

He has always had the same style to me, when 5 on it and shit was out Yuk was a youngster probably not even 20 yet. Your voice changes over the years.

I remember when Mac Dre got out of jail his voice sounded hella deeper like on the Rompilation compared to Whats Really Goin On and Young Black Brotha

i agree w/ Doc that Yuk was a little more mellow before he went solo.. I think he got more into the screamin' and yellin and found that identity when he went solo. His content hasn't really changed a whole lot... but now he's real angry! :)

mayn its just some shit called maturing... is everybody tryna question dis niggas street shit? cmon Doc, you form the bay right? wats some G shit out here.. you know u know. I mean, this nigga went through some shit since bak when he first started, same as any other cuzzo would, why must his style or even subject be the same since he started? Look at Mac Dre, look at Keak... you can hear differences over the years, at least even subtle differences.. these niggas just matured, whether it b for the best or worst (in this case all the best). its nuthin. like it was mentioned b4, versatility.

niggas is askin if this guy or that guy is now a gangsta or some shit... go kick it with him now and find out... of course its gonna b different from back when a man was like 17 or 18 sellin tapes out of the trunk, the boy was hustlin, tryna experiment. Its funny, days in the town may neva be the same as they used to... we didn't even call ourselves 'gangsta', but im sure them boys in the 80s and early 90s would knock a head just like 2day.

Look at Pac, I am not comparing Yuk and Pac, but to be real, Pac, after the Bay life, rapped about the LA G-life and what not.. B's and C shit, basically cuz of his surroundings and new experiences... its like asking, when did Pac start that gangsta shit? Does it matter, he was spittin real shit

First of all calm down. Its not that serious I'm not asking or caring how street he is. My question was WHEN DID HE CHANGE HIS IMAGE. I could care less if he was shot 50 times and locked in trunks across America. I have homies who have been shot and raised by crack head parents. They dont act any different than anybody else would. Just because he's been through things why would that make him Change his voice and image all of a sudden.

Sometimes I think yall just back any bay artist because they are from the bay. These niggas could spit in ya mommas face and slap your grandmomma and you'll stick up for them like you owe them something. These niggas dont care about you. Why do you care so much about them. Same goes for pac yeah I liked some of his music but the nigga was not jesus, if he was alive today most of yall pac worshipers would be calling him a sellout or a bitch or something of that nature. Just like most of yall did when he moved down to LA calling him a bay reject. Now that he's gone everybody is on his nuts who wasnt when he was here.

IMO Yuk started rappin harder after Pac died cuz someone needed to rep the west. Sorta like Pac being on top of the game and being from the west, Yuk saw the opportunity to try to fill the void that Pac left, so to speak. He basically stepped his game up and continues to do so to this day.

yuk is who he is take it or leave it. When did he start rappin hard? I think he always has. that song with numb on dru downs shit. He's rappin about kidnap ransom what else do you want? That seems gangsta. & remember your talking about lyrical content and delivery, which always gets better. improvement growing into your own. I call it EVOLVING. I mean look at lunnisicc he evolved as well as guce, now you can say evolving for better or worse but who are we to determine how when why where they spit. to me back in those days when he started the BAY gangsta shit was about slangin, turf bangin pimp shit all areas of the game today we embrace and consider "gangsta" (imo) yukmouth is still on that turf thuggin pimpin shit. yea his delivery voice changed. WOW, 50 cent sounded like mase b4 he got shot fat joe sounded like a fake wu tang right up till about the time people started gettin crunk. Now he's on some pimp shit. with hella hi hats and claps not (the all mighty snare drum) in his beats (baselines ....hummmmm). I think everbody has there own opinion and I can see why you would ask but to me yuk is bayarea type shit concentrated. You say what you want bout him tryna be pac but thats all assumtions. Nice thread but can we cut the man some slack? I mean it is his life mayn you buy it or you dont im sure he dont need no sideline jon maddens.

my bad on the long ass post it may not directly answer your question Im sure someone will find a loop hole but i believe its relivent

p.s. im not the president of his fan club. but shit its gotta be tough havin "hella" people you dont know question your every move. so i say let the man do his thang.

peace-

over the years, we all progress and change with our environments. we are all products of our environments(p.o.m.e.) fuckn with j.prince who has always held his composure and represented himself as a g and savage business man, how could you not pick up those tactics from being around him. Being around bo, the gov, seagram(r.i.p.), real niggas, how could you not pick up from that. If you a real nigga from the gate, then you vibe even more off of these cats. real niggas fuck with real niggas. Period.

LOL @ Yuk maturing. He (as a rapper, I don't know the nigga) has changed alot from when the Luniz were the Lunitoons and it was three dudes in the group. The thing is that (like most) Yuk took the ride or die part of Pac and couldn't capture the intelectual, Brinda Got A Baby, Dear Momma part of Pac. Yuk and a shit load of other rappers from the West to the East Coast took the Tat's and Thug Life image of Pac and ran with it. It like these niggaz (esp. Yuk) took the end of Hit Um Up, when Pac was venting, yellin and screamin on cats and turned it into the artist they wanted to be when Pac was way bigger than that. Nobody would probaly trip off of any of the shit with Yuk if he wasn't always yellin "Im'a BOSS" and all of the other "I can't be fucked wit" talk he does. Good rapper, yes...Super Thug, no.
