for those artists and labels out there tryna boost sales.


u know how ya got bonus track(s) on albums, and MOST of the time they even give the title of the song(s) on the back of the cd. well instead get the artist to do like 10 extra songs (basically another album), and release those 10 as a bonus tracks, 1 random song on all cds that are pressed, with the same covers and all. keep everything the same except the bonus track on the actual cd. don't list the actual name of the track or anything, just have "1 of 10 BONUS TRACKS" on the back. die hard fans will get atleast 2-3 copies of the album jus to see if they get a different song or not, thus boosting sales even more. and later on maybe release those 10 tracks as a BONUS TRACK album. now jus try n tell me this is not a dope idea. holla

That isn't a dope Idea. first off it would cost a lot more to make then you will recieve.

You would have to make 10 diffrent editions of the same album which is to time consuming and you would have to get the distributions permission to release all of them at once. Its to much of a gamble cuz they would put all this money into those ten diffrent versions and the rest of the album could be a flop.

last but not least if the artist is garbage anyway then they're isn ANYTHING you can do to boost sales cept either change your style or quit all together.

that Idea wasn't a good one

I know i wouldnt buy a artist 2nd album just for a bonus song!! Shit thats where bootlegging will come in to play!!i will buy 1 cd and bootlegg all the bonus tracks!!:)

You started and then ended your post with ignorance. Who's gonna buy the same 15 some songs again for one new one?? How much would it cost to manufacture 10 different versions of the same album and then spend on advertising so people knew what you were trying to do??

Buying CDs for an extra track is not like getting happy meals to collect all the toys. Why would I spend upwords of 100 bucks to get 10 bouns tracks? For that I could go out and buy a whole shit load of classic albums that I knew had tight ass shit on them. That was a good idea if you were getting all the compasses in a craker jack box, but for extra tracks on CDs? Hell no!

But I agree with most of yall in here, I ain't buying 10 CD's, what if I don't get a different bonus track? I would be pissed as fuck.

If you want to carry out this plan :rolleyes:

You would have to label the tracks so folks know which to buy. This ain't the lotto....

if i were to do some shit like buy 10 different copies of an album, i'd hate to find out that 5 of em has the same bonus song
