Never thought he'd be the one to do this first. Out of all the Mexican greats that have fought over the years or the all time greats that have had belts in 3 divisions, it's crazy to me he was the first.

I dug out some fight pics I had and I have a picture with him and remembered he was kind of an a-hole when I met him lol

Arce did his thing for sure. Like Chris said I thought he was done after Vic Darchinyan beat the brakes off him. That was by far the best fight on the whole card.

I would love to see a rematch. That was definitely the best fight on the card. I thought it was very classy of Arce to hug Vazquez at the start of round 12. Also hilarious because what if Arce was thinking as he was hugging him...get ready to get slaughtered this last round kid. It was amazing how he just went for broke and won in the 12th

definitely the most enjoyable fight on the card. i liked the whole narrative of the fight too.. a vet vs a talented young champion with no amateur background who's never been in a real war before. the story of how he decided to be a boxer, & his father. plus its mexico vs PR. vasquez father throwing in the towel in the final round just put it over the top. i'm not as familiar with boxing as i am with mma, at all. not even close.. but seeing that fight was almost like watching a story unfold.

fight of the night forsure, id love to see a rematch, i dono why but i didnt like the stop, i know his pops saved him, but to me Jr. wasnt getting slaughtered, and he should have allowed him to finish the last min and a half and go out like a champ, just my opinion but great fight they were throwing the entire match and they were sticking, very entertaining wasnt just a slugfest Jr. was doing a good job boxing through some of that chaos like when he dropped arce in the early rounds, it made up for the BS that happened in those earlier cards

Jorge Arce Rips Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. Over Hair Gel Claim

By Jose Luis Camarillo, notifight.com

WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge Arce has ripped Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. over a claim that the Mexican boxer used a foreign substance in his hair gel. Last Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Arce stopped Vazquez in the tweflth round to capture the WBO crown. Afterwards, Vazquez made claims that a substance, from Arce's hair, got into his eyes and "affected his vision in the early rounds."

"What nonsense. How awful to say that when discussing the success of another - by giving no support. And there is a saying for this: when someone talks about you, it is out of envy, and this is the tribute that mediocrity pays to talent," Arce said.

Light flyweight, super flyweight & super bantamweight is all Arce's won. Pong held the actual ABC title and Arce's never became official. I like Arce as much as the next guy but it's already fairly easy to become a champion in some sanctioning bodies, it'd be a shame to start counting every interim, intercontinental, youth, pacific and whatever the fuck else they'd like to make up title.

Still amazing props for what Arce did on the 7th. Excellent fight.
