According to a high level source within TNA, Jim Ross has had a meeting with TNA officials concerning the possibility of signing with the company.

I was informed that within the past week or so, Ross met with both TNA President Dixie Carter and Dean Broadhead, the CFO of TNA, and the two sides discussed the possibility of Jim Ross signing with TNA. I was told TNA has interest in bringing JR into the company as they are still in the process of trying to "shake things up" on TV.

It should be noted that this was just a meeting, and should not be taken to mean that Ross has signed, or is going to sign with TNA.

Currently, JR is still under contract with WWE, but the deal expires on April 30th

hope he doesnt but i wouldnt be surprised especially when they pissed his ass off for not being able to announce at WM

WWE has nothing left for him and say what you will, he is the best announcer today.

I like the team of Taz and Tenay and I think they're the best commentary team right now, but hey throwing in JR to the mix wouldn't hurt, or maybe they could do it WCW style and switch one announcer every hour of Impact.... interesting.

I'd be more willing to watch Impact every now & then if JR was announcing... he brings an "it" factor that makes it more enjoyable.

Still wouldn't go out of my way to watch it tho.

Tazz would be demoted. Tenay is one of Hulk's buddies, and JR's a legend.

Tazz would end up doing backstage annoucing or strictly PPV.

But anyway, I think JR should stay at his restaurant and make that fuckin BBQ sauce and stay away from TNA altogether.

no way in hell that would happen. Tenay and JR are both play by play commentators and Taz is the color man....how boring would a Tenay and JR team be? Thats the purpose of a color commentator, not to call all the technical moves and holds but to add in some comments and jokes that supplement the play by play man's calls.

Sounds to me like WWE won't be renewing his contract. He's been very vocal on the internet about him doing outside stuff, could be trying to send signs to WWE. If he were to stay with WWE, I would like him to be the new talent scout and take Johnny Ace's job...he brought in alot better talent than Ace ever has.
